Zander Schloss of The Circle Jerks returns with an immersive and cinematic amble through fingerpicked acoustic guitar meditations in Californias Burning. Well known for his soundtrack work with filmmaker Alex Cox (Repo Man/Sid and Nancy) and collaborations with Joe Strummer, Zander's sophomore album release sees the multi-instrumentalist writing orchestral elements and baroque textural flourishes into long-play arrangements, creating a soundscape that shimmers with a warm psychedelic vividness. With legendary musician and producer Alain Johannes now manning the board, the record captures Schloss' elevation from punk rock legend to masterful songwriter and musical director.
