Show Business, Baby, is Tom Heyman's pub-rock magnum opus. The veteran singer/songwriter, multi instrumentalist and sideman (Chuck Prophet, Alejandro Escovedo, Sonny Smith, Hiss Golden Messenger,...) delved deep into his record collection to conjure the spirit of the artists he loved as a young man such as Rockpile, NRBQ, The Flamin' Groovies, and Mink DeVille. Steeped in Rock and Roll, Garage Rock, and R&B the record is full of short sharp songs, barbed guitar solos and liberally unselfconscious boogie. Love (lost, found and begged for), work, drinking and getting older are all covered with a sly grin, and a great big beat. Dig it.
